Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every order placed with Bouwkit, a trade name of Dream Ops B.V., Hamerstraat 3D, 1135 GA Edam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42047001. Contact: info@bouwkit.com. This English text is a translation; if the two differ, the Dutch terms prevail.

1. Offer and contract

  1. Every offer on the website is without obligation and valid while stocks last. Obvious errors in price or description do not bind us.
  2. The contract is concluded when you place your order with the button "Order with an obligation to pay". We confirm the order by e-mail straight away.
  3. All prices are in euros and include VAT unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are shown separately before you order.

2. Products

  1. Building kits are laser-cut wooden parts you assemble yourself. Dimensions and the number of parts are on the product page.
  2. Building plans are digital files (for example DXF, SVG or PDF) for your own use; the licence is on the download page.
  3. Made-to-measure products are produced for you from the dimensions you enter. Check them carefully: made-to-measure products cannot be returned (see section 6).
  4. Cutting service: we cut and engrave your own files. The calculator on the "Cutting service" page shows the price at once and lets you order directly; for larger custom work we make a quote stating price, material and validity. See section 7.

3. Payment

  1. You pay at checkout with one of the payment methods offered. For a quote you receive a payment link.
  2. We start producing or shipping once payment has been received. As a consumer you cannot be required to pay more than half the price in advance; if you want to pay less in advance, contact us before ordering and pay the rest before delivery.

4. Delivery

  1. We ship to the countries shown at checkout. The expected delivery time is on the product page, in the calculator or in the quote. We deliver within 30 days of the order at the latest unless we agree another period. If we cannot, we tell you and you may cancel the order free of charge.
  2. Parts longer than 1.75 m or parcels heavier than 30 kg cannot be sent as a parcel. Those orders are collected in Edam or delivered by separate arrangement (see "Shipping and delivery").
  3. The risk of damage or loss passes to you when the product is delivered to you (or someone you designated), or on collection when you take it with you.

5. Digital files

A building plan is delivered immediately after payment through a personal download link that is valid for 30 days and can be used a limited number of times. You can renew the link on your account page.

6. Right of withdrawal

  1. As a consumer you have 14 days after receipt of a building kit to change your mind. See "Right of withdrawal" for the conditions and the model form.
  2. The right of withdrawal does not apply to made-to-measure products and cutting jobs made to your specifications or files, nor to digital files where you agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. You confirm this at checkout and it is stated in the order confirmation.

7. Cutting service on your own files

  1. You supply the files and are responsible for the design, the dimensions and the colour assignment (red cuts, blue engraves, black engraves areas). Before you order we show the measured dimensions, a preview of what we cut and the repairs we propose; what you then order is what we make.
  2. You declare that you hold the rights to the files or have permission from whoever does. If a third party holds us liable because your file infringes their rights, you indemnify us.
  3. We do not cut weapons or weapon parts, counterfeit brands or hateful content. We may refuse a job we consider to fall under this; you then get the full amount back.
  4. Laser cutting has a kerf of about 0.2 mm. Colour and grain of wood and sheet material vary per sheet; that is not a defect.
  5. The delivery date in the calculator is an estimate based on how busy our workshop is; section 4.1 still applies.
  6. A part longer than 1.75 m can only be collected in Edam; you see this before you order.
  7. A cutting job is made especially for you. There is therefore no right of withdrawal and no refund once you have ordered. Your statutory rights in case of a defect (section 8) still apply: if we cut it wrong, we cut it again or refund you.

8. Warranty and complaints

  1. You have the statutory guarantee: a product must do what you may reasonably expect of it. Those rights always apply, in addition to what follows.
  2. If something is wrong, tell us as soon as possible at info@bouwkit.com with your order number and photos. We respond within 5 working days. A justified complaint is resolved with repair, replacement parts, a new product or a refund.
  3. If we cannot resolve it together, you may take the dispute to the competent court.

9. Liability

Our liability is limited to the amount of the order, except in case of intent or gross negligence, personal injury and where the law does not permit a limitation. Our building kits are hobby kits for ages 14 and up and are not toys; see "Safety and use".

10. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live remains in force.
